Practice areas

Expertise

Three main areas, one common approach: understand your situation, identify the legal levers, defend you with method.

01 — Personal injuryCompensation for victims

When a road accident, an assault or medical malpractice disrupts a life, recovery also goes through compensation. I assist victims at every stage: medical-legal file, assessment of damages (physical, economic, moral, aesthetic, loss of enjoyment), negotiation with insurance companies, and litigation before the CIVI or civil courts.

  • Road accidents (Badinter Act)
  • Assault · CIVI procedure
  • Medical malpractice · CCI · CRCI
  • General civil liability

02 — Civil lawCounsel, deeds and litigation

Civil law permeates every act of life: contracts, banking relationships, family or estate disputes. I draft, review, negotiate and, if necessary, plead to defend your interests. My activity also includes judicial protection of minors and specialized counsel in animal law.

  • Contract law · drafting
  • Banking law · litigation
  • Civil procedure · representation
  • Educational assistance · minors
  • Animal law

03 — Criminal lawDefense and assistance

During police custody, before the investigating judge, at the criminal court, in immediate appearance or before the Assizes: criminal defense requires immediate availability and complete mastery of procedure. As a member of the Luxembourg Association of Criminal Law Attorneys (ALAP), I act on both sides of the border.

  • 24/7 police custody
  • Investigation · assistance
  • Immediate appearance
  • Criminal court · Assizes
  • Juvenile criminal law
  • Civil party · victims
Specialized skills

Beyond the three pillars

Some cases sit at the intersection of several branches of law, or call for a sharper expertise. Below are the complementary skills I regularly draw on:

  • Contract law
  • Banking law
  • Law of minors
  • Educational assistance
  • Civil procedure
  • Contract drafting
  • Road accidents
  • Civil liability
  • Animal law
Method

Three working principles

I
Listen before advising — every file begins with a precise analysis of the facts and expectations.
II
Explore the amicable route when it serves your interest — litigation is not always the best strategy.
III
Plead with rigor when necessary — meticulous preparation, presence at every hearing.
Frequently asked questions

The questions I am asked most often

Personal injury
What are the deadlines for compensation after a road accident?

The French Badinter Act provides a 10-year limitation period, but it is advisable to start proceedings as soon as medical consolidation is reached. The initial insurance offer is often below the actual damage. The firm assists victims at every stage, from medical assessment to litigation before the CIVI if necessary.

Can I be represented even if the insurer has already offered compensation?

Yes, it is even recommended. A personal injury attorney reviews each component of the damage (permanent impairment, pain and suffering, aesthetic damage, loss of opportunity) and negotiates a counter-offer or a contradictory medical assessment if needed.

Civil law
When is it worth having a contract reviewed by an attorney?

Ideally before signing, for any significant commitment: commercial contract, lease, acknowledgment of debt, employment contract with specific clauses. A preventive review costs significantly less than subsequent litigation.

My minor child is summoned before the juvenile judge, do I need an attorney?

Attorney assistance is a right and strongly recommended from the time of summons, whether in educational proceedings (Art. 375 of the French Civil Code) or in juvenile criminal matters. The firm practices in Metz and Luxembourg.

Criminal law
Should I speak during police custody before my attorney arrives?

No. You have the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney. It is strongly advised to wait for your counsel before making any statement. The firm is reachable at +33 3 87 75 26 95.

What happens in an immediate appearance proceeding?

At the end of police custody, the prosecutor may bring the case before the criminal court the same day or within three days. Attorney representation is mandatory. Given the short preparation time, responsive counsel is decisive for the defense.

Unsure about your situation?

First consultation free. Often a chance to get clarity — even without opening a file.
